The piece is inspired by the colors of the nights at Khmer temples where the cold blue nights are contrasted with the warmth of the candle and moonlight. Khun depicts the light illuminating from within, a concept that ties back to most buddhist monks’ goal as they chant sanskrit prayers every night in the temples, accompanied by the sight of stupas in the distance.
